Suggest Remedies For Itchy Blisters On The Skin
Question: Have a client who is getting red -purple spots around joints areas that are warm to touch and sometime even blister making the joint look infected but then it clears up in 5-14 days only to show up some where else it started on her thumb then moved to one knee and then to a finger and is now on her toe she complains of pain the fist day and the severe itching the next few been using hydrocortisone for the itching

Dear Ms, this is most probably lichen plants which is an auto-immune disease that is not contagious.Some of the most common symptoms of lichen planus include the following:
1)purplish-colored lesions or bumps with flat tops on your skin
2) lesions that develop and spread over the body during weeks or a few months
3)itching at the site of the rash
4)lacy white lesions in the mouth, which may be painful or cause a burning sensation
5) blisters, which burst and become scabby
thin white lines over the rash
Over the course of several weeks lesions appear and spread. The condition will usually clear up within six to 16 months
As for the treatment , lichen planus has no cure but treatment is to treat the symptoms such as retinoids , corticosteroids either topical or oral to reduce the inflammation , antihistaminics to reduce inflammation and control itching and light therapy with UV rays.
