Blurry Vision From A Sinus Infection, Antibiotics That Haven't Worked. What To Do ?

I have blurry vision from a sinus infection , I have had 3 rounds of various antibiotics that have not worked. A ct scan shows the infection so my md has prescibed Flonase instead but this is helping with my nose passage it does nothing for my vision.. I saw an optometrist who said my eyes are fine... can you help? This has been going on for months and the vision problem at least one month.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Dear Brendace,Its very rare to have blurry vision with sinusitis unless you have any infection spreading to your eye from the sinuses. It may be due to watering of eyes which causes blurring of vision ,but that is temporary.Flonase is a steroid which will help in decreasing the inflammation not infection. If your CT showed infection you may need antibiotic which is susceptible to the organism.PLs do a nasal swab if sinusitis is chronic and look for the organism which is causing the problem.Take proper antibiotic with which the organism is responding.Rule out any fungal infection, diabetes and severe allergy. If you are on steroid for a long time ,rule out cataract and glaucoma as there are the side effects of steroids. So go to an ENT specialist and discuss your case once more and for second opinion go to an ophthalmologist who can rule out any eye disorder....TC ..Dr Ajay Shankar Kar, cornea consultant, Sankar foundation eye hospital, Vizag.
