Arthritic Knees, Baker's Cyst, Stiff, Sore, Painful Knees. Using Diclofenac Gel. Will The Cyst Eventually Disappear?
I am a 70 yr. old women who has arthritic knees. I am in good physical condition and attend low impact exercise classes and weight bearing classes at our YMCA. I am also a walker. I developed a Baker's cyst behind my left knee and have been icing and elevating and using a dyclofenc gel for pain relief. My question, is my orthopedic said the cyst is small and will eventually go away. There are days when I feel great and days, after exercising, that my knee becomes stiff and sore... is this normal and does the Baker's cyst eventually disappear?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The baker's cyst in your knee is likely to be related to the degenerative changes in the joint. The pain is due to a decrease in the joint lubricants. This cyst is not likely to disappear even after the treatment. Do take glucosamine supplements to reduce pain. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
