I m 19 and I have PCOS. My doctor started me on Meprate to syntactically start my period so that she could start me on pills for the same. I have an irregular cycle and on average I get my period twice a year. I took Meprate 10mg twice a day every day for 5 days. I started with one doze on Sunday (June 15th 2014) night and took my last doze on Friday (June 20th 2014) morning. I had unprotected sex on June 18th 2014 but used the withdrawal method. I took a pregnancy test on June 21st 2014 and after two hours a faint second line was visible on it. Could I be pregnant? I know that the pregnancy tests available in the market cannot possible detect pregnancy so early abd result after test period, which is usually 10 minutes is wrong... If not, when exactly should I expect my period?
Dear member Thanks for writing. If you are not pregnant then you should expect your period in a week after stopping meprate. Why don't you repeat your test in a laboratory where you can get a definite answer to whether you are pregnant or not. A blood test for pregnancy called serum beta hcg is a definite test for pregnancy. Thanks Dr bhagyashree
