Temazepam is a drug of benzodiazepine group. It is a group of drugs which are mainly used as hypnotics and sedatives. A hypnotic drug is a substance that is mainly used for inducing sleep.

It has potential to cause dependence and has abuse potential but also its a very safe drug and if taken under proper prescription almost free of side effects.

It is a controlled substance but its not a narcotic drug.
