Brief Answer:
Risk of cancer with smoking

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Bilateral, small symmetrical opacities in lower lung fields are most likely nipple shadow. However if you are very anxious, you may get a CT chest done to rule out any other pathology.

Risk of cancer is definitely heightened with smoking and it increases proportionately with the number and years of cigarette smoking.

If you are cancer free now, it`s advisable that you go for regular check ups from time to time and if you develop any chest symptoms, you should consult a pulmonologist as soon as possible.

I hope this answers your query.
