What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?
Question: I am having a haemoglobin levels of 10.8 with the RBC count of 4.1 and the report shows i have NORMOCYTIC HYPOCHROMIC WITH ANISOCYTOSIS. Recently i was diagnosed for PANCREATITIS with Amylase levels of 624.

Hi, I am Dr Mittal. I have read your query. I think I would be able to help you.
The hemoglobin levels you have reported are not very low and the rbc count is relatively normal even if on the lower side of the normal. In view of your peripheral smear report suggesting a iron deficiency anemia, I would suggest testing iron, TIBC, FERRITIN, vitamin B 12 and folate levels.
You can then start iron and vitamin supplement.
And this is unlikely to be related to pancreatitis.
