Question: Hi Doctor,

I had undergone an HSG today and my report says below:

UTERUS
Uterine cavity is normal in size and shape. No intraluminal filling defect is seen. No mass is seen.

FALLOPIAN TUBES
Right fallopian tube is faintly opacified and shows normal caliber.

Only proximal aspect of left fallopian tube is opacified.

No free peritoneal spillage is seen on either side.

Please let me know if my tubes (either one or both) are open or blocked.

Please help

Brief Answer:
Blocked fallopian tubes

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The HSG report is indicative of bilateral opacified and blocked fallopian tubes.
There is no spillage of the fluid through the fallopian tubes, confirming the fact that both of them are blocked.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Wishing you good health.

Hi Doctor,

Please let me know.

Is IVF the only solution left for me now?
I have already done Laproscopy in the month of SEP-2015.

Please advice.

Brief Answer:
IVF recommended

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
IVF is the recommended treatment for patients with bilateral tubal blockage.
Tubal surgery to open the tubes is not recommended and has very low success rate.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
