Question: Age:26yrs, weight-69kgs, hight- 5'6"
Hi doctor, I had irregular periods. Doc told me its PCOD. And she recommended ovral-l for 3months and i got my periods exactly for 29 days when i used ovral-l.
after that she prescribed the following :
1. Fertyl (from the 3rd day to 7th day of my period )
2. Susten 100 (from 19th day to 25th day of my period)
3. Minmet-500sr (Metformin hydrochloride sustained release tablet) daily one tablet in the morning.
I followed the same and I got period for 32days i.e october 11th (Doctor told that because of susten i got my period late). This month still i didn't get my periods. can i expect pregnency as today is 35th day. I did the pregnancy test today morning. I saw the there was two lines but one line was dark and one line was light, So i dont know whether i am pregnant or not.

Brief Answer:
Chances are good.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

It is very likely that you could pregnant considering the fact that you are on ovulation induction (presuming that you are sexually active during the fertile days) and had a faint line on HPT. Urine pregnancy tests usually read well 3-7 days after a missed period with a fresh early morning sample of urine. This is because these tests need higher levels of hCG for detection.

In the current scenario, you can repeat the urine test after a couple of days or get an assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres, if you wish for an earlier and better confirmation as this test is very sensitive and detects low serum levels as well.

A trans-vaginal sonogram performed after another week, if you still have a missed period, also can help in the diagnosis.

Hope I have clarified your query. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.

Thank you doctor for your answer.
We had intercourse on 9th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 18th of my period. Chances of getting pregnency is high in this case?

Brief Answer:
pretty good.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

In a cycle induced by Clomiphene, ovulation usually is seen about five days after completion of the course. This means you are likely to have had ovulation around the 12th-14th day of your cycle. Since you had regular intercourse around that period, your chances of conception are pretty good.

Hope I have answered your query. Please get back if you need further clarifications. I will be ready to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
