Brief Answer: Further tests needed to find the cause... Detailed Answer: Hi, I have gone through the medical history of your mother and understood your concerns. The liver enzymes of your mother are really, but not at the point of being worried too much as long as bilirubin is within the normal range. The very first thing to do is to find out why she is having such high AST and ALT levels. You are saying that she is having fatty liver; which might have caused such high readings. Furthermore, tests are needed to exclude hepatitis and to know the levels of lipids on the blood. Once again, although the levels are really high, they are not considered emergency. Further tests need to run to find out the cause to such high readings. Dr.Klerida
