Brief Answer:
Hormonal levels are very important for ovulation and conception

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear
welcome to hcm
thanks for keeping your trust in us for your health care.
let me explain normal hormonal condition to you
in our body we need two hormones for starting and realise of egg
they are LH and FSH.This two Hormones act on ovaries to realise the egg.
once the egg is realized then in case if it get fertilized by a sperm it will get implanted in uterus
for reviving the zygote monthly your uterus will be prepared by two hormones they are estrogen and progesterone

ok now I hope that you understand the importance of hormones
once implantation did not happen the prepared uterus will start shedding in form of period.
this shedding will happen due to decrease of hormones estrogen and progesterone.

In your condition doctor gave you medication called clomifen.this medication will stimulate ovary to produce more eggs at a time.
As a usual practice patients will be advised to undergo follicular study to document the realise of egg and suggest the important days for copulation or artificial insemination.

so in your case we need to make sure that eggs are realizing and we need to document it in the form of follicular study to proceed for further evaluation

usually progesterone levels are important after successful implantation so we need to make sure that the first step, that is realise of egg is happening.

after that we can evaluate for any associated Lutheal phase defect

Hope I am able to answer your query

kindly feel free to ask any further query
