Brief Answer:
DETAILS ARE GIVEN BELOW.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) is a most common endocrine disorder among reproductive age group women. It is associated with hormonal imbalance and improper ovulation, leads to irregular period and infertility to some extent.

If PCOD and irregular cycle are the only your concern, then you should take OVACET and GLYCOMET (Metformin) as per your doctor's prescription or at least 6 months. OVACET contains Myoinositol, L-methyl Folate, Calcium and Vitamin D3 as ingredients which acts by triggering ovulation to regularize period.

1) For regular cycle and proper ovulation, I prefer progesterone pill (D16 to D25) or Combined Hormonal pill. Metformin is given to overcome insulin resistance. It has significant role to regularize your period. You should continue that.

2) You have to undergo some other tests like serum TSH, progesterone hormone assay, blood sugar and prolactin level etc. It will help to determine complete treatment plan.

3) You must take a healthy balanced diet with more fresh fruits and vegetables. LOW CARBOHYDRATE diet is preferable. Avoid sugary/ salty/ junk foods.

4) Do regular moderate physical exercise (you can join in Jim) to reduce body weight and avoid mental stress completely by regular meditation or yoga.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and take care yourself.

Brief Answer:
FOLLOW THE ADVICE.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for follow up query.

1) It will take time to get regular period after starting above treatment for PCOD. It is also difficult to predict exact time. Most women get their period after taking one month treatment and some are NOT. You should follow previous advice STRICTLY to regularize your period.

2) I suggest you to REPEAT the pregnancy test again. On NEGATIVE test, you should take MEPRATE (10 mg) twice daily for 5 days. You will get withdrawal bleeding like period within 3-5 days after stopping them.

3) You should continue both GLYCOMET and OVACET with recommended dose as per your doctor's prescription. If you have any side effects after taking them, I suggest you to consult with your doctor for alternative choice.

Hope, I have answered your query. Kindly, close the discussion.

All the best and good luck.

Brief Answer:
Follow the advice.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for query.

You can take both tabs (Glycomet and Ovacet) when taking Meprate. However, you should STOP them during your period time. After that, you must continue them regularly or as per your doctor's advice.

Hope, it helps to clear your doubt. Kindly, close the discussion.

Good luck and all the best.
