Posted on Wed, 4 Mar 2015
Question: Hello :) I just woke up to my daughter complaining that her stomach hurt and then proceeded to vomit onto the floor. Her temp reads 96.8 and she's had diarrhea twice this morning. She refuses anything to drink and has since gone back to bed after taking a quick shower.

Brief Answer:
Antiemetic will be useful to prevent vomiting

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Vomiting and diarrhoea could be due to Acute Gastroenteritis. If the following criteria are fulfilled there is no cause for concern

1. Absence of blood in loose stools

2. Absence of distension of abdomen

3. Urine output adequate

4. Appetite normal

5. Absence of fever

I would suggest you the following

1. Antiemetic like Domperidone will be helpful, given along with antacid like Lansoprozole

2. Ensure intake of Electrolyte solution to prevent dehydration

3. probiotics will be helpful in reducing frequency of loose stools.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take Care
