What Causes Tickling In Lungs When Breathing That Causes Coughing?

default
Posted on Sat, 29 Mar 2014
Question: I have a persisting tickle in my chest/lungs area when breathing that causes me to cough, mostly at night. I've never smoked, fairly active hiking a few times a month, sometimes over 10 miles. I never have issues with my heart when I do. But this cough has come on my twice now already this year and lingers. I've also had it a few times in previous years but it eventually goes away. I was coughing up green mucus, but now it appears to be just white spit. Again, it gets really bad at night, doesn't matter if i'm sitting or lying. I'm taking mucinex during the day and nyquill at night.
