What Causes Temporary Pain In Back In The Area Of Both Kidneys When I Wake Up?

default
Posted on Sat, 26 Jul 2014
Question: I am experiencing temporary pain in by back in the area of both kidneys when I wake up. This has been happening for about two months and thought it was from swimming or exercise. The pain seems to go away after I urinate in the morning. I recently started to take supplements for arthritic knees and prescribed medicine for enlarged prostrate. Tried to stop the prescribed medicine for two days and think I detected some relief, have not tried stopping everything to see what happens. Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Vesicoureteral reflux...

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

According to your medical history and to your symptoms I think that the condition that you are experiencing is related to Vesicoureteral reflux.
Vesicoureteral reflux is the abnormal flow of urine from the bladder to the upper urinary tract(kidneys).

Vesicoureteral reflux is caused by enlarged prostate, because enlarged prostate blocks urinary vesicle.

You should continue the treatment of enlarged prostate in order to relieve your symptoms.

Ask me for anything unclear.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.
