What Causes Strong Smell In Urine, Excessive Sweating On Face And Fluttery Vision?

default
Posted on Thu, 25 Aug 2016
Question: Hi. About 3 months ago, I noticed that my urine started smelling off. At the time, I did have a little pain and pressure when going to the bathroom. That went away but I still have the strong smell. Along with this I have extreme sweating (standing still doing nothing at all, I can just have sweat pour down my face and down my neck). This happens about once per hour. Even during the night. I had a hysterectomy in 2010 and was on HRT for a couple of years but never experienced sweating like this during that time. I also get light headed very easily and out of breath while doing nothing and have extreme fatigue. I have memory issues (forget words - not like the typical you go into a room and can't remember why you are there type memory issues). My vision is worse and I find my eyes flutter when I stop and stare at something.

Brief Answer:
Details required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

This happens in some situations. I need you to give me some more details so that I can explain in detail :

1) Have you checked your blood pressure recently? How much was it.

2) Have you done your blood sugar levels recently? How much was fasting blood sugar.

3) Your ovaries were removed during hysterectomy in 2010?

Please let me know details and attach any blood test reports available so that I can explain in detail.

Regards

Hi. Thank you for getting back to me.

I am on Lisinopril (20 mg) for my BP as it does tend to run a little high (140/90 ish - even while on the meds). Have been on Lisinopril for about 3 years now. I also take Welbutrin for some anxiety which I have taken for about 4 years. I use Flonase daily (2 sprays each nostril once per day) for Sinus issues that I have battled with my whole life. I have had two sinus surgeries (for excess bone and cartilage). Last surgery was 1997. And I take Allegra for my Sinuses (if needed). I have noticed recently that I have a foul smell in my nose. I always say that I have a cat litter box in my nose when that happens. When that happens I use a neti pot with distilled water to try to flush my nose.

I have NOT done my blood sugar levels at all. Although I can tell sometimes that my blood sugar levels drop and then I know that I need to eat something. I can definitely tell when my "batteries" have run down and need to be recharged. I cannot go without eating as I get very shaky. My weight runs around 150 and I am 5 feet 5 inches tall so it wouldn't hurt me to lose a little weight.

Yes, my ovaries were removed during the hysterectomy in 2010.

I was able to get a doctors appoint for tomorrow and will discuss these things but would love to have your opinion as to what kinds of tests I should ask to have done while there. I am assuming a urine test to check for some sort of infection (UTI or Sinus). And will possibly set up a fasting blood sugar test.

Thank you so much for your help.

Brief Answer:
Blood sugar levels required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Please get fasting blood sugar levels tested and also get after breakfast blood sugar levels.

Change blood pressure medicines if it's high continuously.

These are main tests required.

Let me know what your doctor advices tomorrow so that i can explain it in detail.

So I paid $15 and that was all I got? I already knew these things. I figured you would give me some ideas as to why my urine would have a foul odor for 3 months and how that combined with some of the other symptoms could be possible indications of something. Your answer did not say anything about testing for some sort of infection. Or give me any ideas as to why I would break out into a terrible dripping sweat while standing still and how that symptom combined with one of the other symptoms might be indicative of something. If this is all I will get, then I want my $15 back.
Thank you!

Brief Answer:
urine culture and sensitivity test required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Foul smelling urine indicates urinary tract infection.

Simple urine culture and sensitivity test would help you to identify the organism causing infection and the antibiotics it is responsive to.

Dripping sweat and fatigue needs to be correlated with blood sugar levels and after controlling hypertension in a better way.

Regards

This will heal the foul smelling urine issue.
