Question: I went to the Urgent Care yesterday because I had this sinking feeling in my urethra along with a little bit of pain in my back the doctor there examine my P and she said I had low ketones and protein in my urine and that's what's causing the stinging feeling she thought I was just dehydrated I have no visible bumps anywhere nor do I feel any pain in my genitals if its just dehydration how long before something like this goes away I have to admit it does feel probably 80 percent better since yesterday I just been drinking lots of water but it still feels kind of funny and I have some pressure on my left side

Brief Answer:
It will disappear with good hydration on next 2 to 3 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I really appreciate your concern
Dehydration leads to loss of water from body because of that kidney produces very concentrated urine, which may cause stinging or burning sensation in urethra

To help you better I would like to know following details
Cause of dehydration like diarrhoea or simply lack of water intake
if possible upload me the urine report

In my opinion you should have lots of fluids in the form of plain water, juices , lemon water and keep yourself well dehydrated

This stinging sensation may disappear in next 2 to 3 days with good hydration and passage of well diluted urine.

Hope this answers your question
Please let me.know if you have any more doubts
Best wishes

Well I know the dehydration was due to the fact that I was cutting weight I lost about 10 pounds last week cutting weight I did not cut out all water intake but I cut up my water intake by about half and of course I was a holiday weekend there was lots of alcohol intake it appears like the pressure and the pain moves around little bit it's not really in my stomach anymore it's in my inner thighs the stinging sensation in my urethra just about goes away but then it seems to appear again do you have any idea if this could be an STD the last time I was sexually active was about 2 months ago I have nothing sleeping or anything like that just that stinging feeling and its funny pain that moves around a little bit for my stomach to my back

Brief Answer:
Please consider these guidelines

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your reply
With signs of dehydration and history of high alcohol this might be related to alcohol induced gastritis and inflammation of urethra owing to passage of concentrated urine.

In my opinion you should take plenty of fluids with anti acidity medicines like pantoprazole or omeprazole with antacids

Please don't cut the water in take in fact you should take lots of water in order to boost your metabolism yo reduce weight.

Hope this answers your question
Best wishes
