What Causes Severe Itching On The Labia?

Question: So yesterday morning I woke up with severe itching in my labia area and so I bought some otc feminine itch relief medicine. Since then it has only gotten worse and my labia seems to be very swollen. I have not done anything out of the normal. And I haven't noticed any discharge. What could this be? I currently lost my health insurance so I cannot afford to go see my OBGYNO.

Hi there,
Welcome to HCM,

Since its gotten worse after applying the itch relief its advisable to stop it.
Do you have any burning while passing urine ?
Have you had similar symptoms before?
Do you pain or burning while passing urine?
Did the OTC cream have a steroid in it it could make the fungal infection worse.
Usually Canesten (miconazole ) works well but it should not have a steroid competent in it.

No pain or burning during urination and no i dont believd it had any steroid in it

then a miconazole cream could work, for sure.

If it doesnt, then its not a fungal itch and will need evaluation with examination by a medical personel.
