What Causes Persistent Vomiting While Having Hashimoto's Disease?

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Dec 2015
Question: Hi Doctor - 4 days ago I woke up early and through up bile from having one too many cocktails on an empty stomach. That day, I went to eat a salad with vinegar and it felt like knives shooting thru the roof of my mouth. The roof of my mouth in the back is still in pain and has now turned yellow orangish. It doesn't feel raw or scraped, it feels like I bruised the roof of my mouth in the back. Is this something that should be treated with an antibiotic? Was wondering if it might be infected due to the bile vomit. I also have Hashimotos Disease and am on thyroid medication - so wondered if maybe its nutrient deficiency of some kind, unrelated to the throwing up.

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics are not requried.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and have checked the attached image. It seems that bile reflux has irritated your palate and hence is causing your problems. Do not worry, it does not need to be treated with antibiotics. In any case, not all infections need to be treated with antibiotics. The body has the capacity to take care of most infections. It is only in select cases that antibiotics need to be used.
Gurgling with lukewarm water should provide relief.
The other mentioned conditions are not directly related.
Let me know if I could be of further assistance.
Regards
