Question: I have pain in my ear after gastroscopy. It feels like misalignment in the otter ear, specially when I try to open my mouse

Hi.
Thanks for your query.

I Read your history and understood your problem.
Ear pains on Gastroscopy is a rare phenomenon.
The probable cause is insuflation of the air through the Eustachian tube into the middle ear. When you open the mouth the Eustachian tube opening automatically widen causing the problem you have.

I do think this is not a serious problem and should be self-limiting.
Try to avoid opening the mouth too wide, take warm liquid diet, do not blow nose, continue Advil. Keep a watch and you may please consult an ENT if the problem persists. I hope you do not have symptoms of flu or upper respiratory tract infection.
