Brief Answer:
Need proper evaluation. Do following investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) In my point of view, hypothyroidism is the main cause of such delayed period. THYRONORM has some side effects like irregular periods. But, she needs to take the medicine for a certain period to make it regular. Dose should be adjusted after repeating serum TSH.

2) If her recent pregnancy test is NEGATIVE, then we need to rule out some other underlying pathology like Poly Cystic Ovary, over weight or sudden loss, irregular diet pattern, pelvic infection etc. Mental stress and emotional upset are associated factors.

3) I suggest her to undergo one pelvic ultrasound scan (USG) and complete hormone profile (serum Prolactin, LH/ FSH, progesterone, DHEAS), hemoglobin% etc to pinpoint the diagnosis.

4) She may need to take progesterone pill like Norethisterone etc to induce period. Kindly, consult with your nearest OBGYN for proper guidance and complete prescription.

5) She must take a healthy balanced diet with IRON supplements or foods. LOW carbohydrate diet is most preferable. Avoid salty, fatty or fast food.

6) Do light to moderate exercise for physical fitness, weight control and avoid mental stress completely by regular meditation/ yoga. Maintain a healthy life style always.

Hope, it helps for your information. Wish your good health and take care.
