What Causes Intermittent Pain In Lower Right Abdomen?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Oct 2015
Question: I have been getting really bad lower right pain off and on for the past few years. The pain will appear out of no where. It is worse than labor pains and when I get it is hard to move or stand up. I usually take Ibuprophen and it slowly goes away. The next day I still hurt a little but nothing compared to when it hits. I have been to the Dr. for it and they can't find anything. I do seem to have diarrhea with it sometimes. I had my gallbladder removed 19 yrs ago, and my appendix has been removed and I have had a total hysterectomy 5 yrs ago. I have started wondering if it could be scar tissue. This past month I have had diarrhea every time I eat. I go up to 5 to 6 times a day and it is always loose. I am tender on my lower right side below my belly button . When I do get the bad pain I have thought about going the ER but never have. I did go to the walk in clinic and they told me I probably just had a virus and made me feel stupid for going. I was just wondering if maybe scar tissue could maybe be causing the pain and if i should bring that up. I have started wondering if it could be my pancreas. I go to the Dr this week to see what might be going on. Thanks

I have been having the pain off and on for the last 5 to 6 yrs. I had my hysterectomy due to endometriosis. I didn't have any complications to any of my surgeries. I did really well with recovery of each of them. The pain I get happened several months after the surgery with my hysterectomy. I have had CT scans with contrast XXXXXXX and had a colonoscopy about 4 yrs ago and they came back ok. The blood work came back good too. I don't drink or smoke and am other than the pain I get I am healthy. I am hypothyroid and take Nature Throid for that and take progesterone. The pain really doesn't seem to be affected by what I eat. The pain I got last week I hadn't had anything to eat. I had an early morning appointment so I didn't eat anything and the pain happened around mid to late afternoon. When I get the pain I just feel real weak and just want to rest. I don't run a fever or get real nauseated with it. It does seem like when I do sit ups or side bends a few days later I get the pain. I still feel a little tender on my right side from the pain I had last Fri. I only drink one cup of coffee a day and that is in the morning. Other than that I drink water.

Though you had uneventful surgeries of Gall bladder(19 yrs back),appendectomy- and )-Hysterectomy(5 yrs back), they are all prone to develop some adhesions due to the infective accompanied inflammation.
With right sided concentration of adhesions with Gall Bladder and appendicitis surgery, the cumulative added effect became vocal and was expressed in the form of –Adhesive Bowel disease-after 1 yr of hysterectomy for endometriosis.( and is there for last 4 yrs almost, with more exacerbation since last 1 month)
Recurrent right lower abdominal Pains which are Worst than the labor pains experienced by you in last few yrs (since last 3-4 yrs ),were due to these Adhesive Bowel Disease with Closed bowel Incarcerated / ie-Reducible obstructions, which used to get reduced with diarrhea attacks in last few months.
