What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After A LEEP Procedure?

default
Posted on Wed, 28 Jun 2017
Question: My friend had a LEEP procedure to remove pre-cancerous cells from her uterus two weeks ago. Recently she had her period which she says finished yesterday. But she started bleeding again today fairly heavily - she says one pad. And she says she had a what looked like a piece of tissue about the size of a chicken liver come out. So she wants to know if this is normal bleeding after the LEEP procedure or something she should be worried about. Thank you for any help.

Brief Answer:
Due to cervical healing

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Bleeding with passage of fleshy mass or tissue is normal after the LEEP procedure as the cervical tissue heals.
There is nothing abnormal in it.
However, the report of the LEEP tissue should be confirmed and further treatment should be done accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
