Question: What are some known bad effects of going on an HCG "Diet"? I inadvisedly tried it this past week. And now feel terrible with real pain going on in my shoulders and lower back. The lower back problem has been going on for awhile but nothing like the pain I had over the weekend. I was also very fatigued, irritable, had a big desire to cry a lot when I seldom, if ever, cry and had shortness of breath with the least effort made physically.

Brief Answer:
"Hormonal" changes due to HCG altered your body's physiology.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM: Please note that these HCG injections are ineffective and are NOT FDA approved, nonetheless, please also note that you are un-naturally altering the hormonal balance in your body and in effect getting hormonal changes that one would experience during their childbearing years, often during menstruation. Therefore I would avoid these injections and you should note that your mood, fatigue, and achiness will resolve. I have full confidence that the injections are your main issue, please note that these injections have been proven to be no better than diet and exercise in losing weight. I hope this clears it up for you.

Thank you so much for your assistance. This past weekend I had such pain in my lower back I didn't know where it could be going. I am just unbelievably embarrassed that a woman my age could make such a foolish decision. I did make an appointment with my doctor in a couple of days. However, I do feel better after discontinuing the injections yesterday.

Brief Answer:
You are most welcome, don't be hard on yourself

Detailed Answer:
I always say, now you know. I would give it a few more days, I am very certain your doctor will not have anything to add, there is no antidote so to speak, so just eat healthy, its all about what we eat you know, and exercise, (you don't have to bench press 200lbs to be healthy and lose weight), and with CONSISTENCY (not just in January :) , make this part of your life to eat and exercise, it should not be a chore either, make it fit somewhere in your daily routine, it does not have to be for hours), you will lose weight, but most and paramount choose your foods wisely. Take care.
