Question: Hi doctor I'm 23 years old I have under active thyroid I had a baby 4 months ago and in mydelivery l lost a lot of blood which I needed a iron booster drip or transfusion can't remember which it was. My levels went down to 7. I take iron everyday sometimes 2 tablets a day. However past days I'm really feeling sick and very dizzy like I can't do nothing I feel so tired and dizzy and weak. What could it be? If it's not anemia what could it be? I feel so light headed so weak sleepy all the time like I'm going to faint. Il be going to do blood test today which ones should I get done?

Brief Answer:
The dose of levothyroxine should be checked:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
Taking iron supplements for 4 months should have corrected anemia, so I do not think anemia is responsible for the actual symptoms.
6 weaks after starting levothyroxine you should check TSH to verify if the actual dose is the correct one.
Of course a detailed clinical examination is very important and in your case i would recommend the below blood tests:
-Full blood count and ESR
-Glycemia and HbA1c level
-AST, ALT, Bilirubin
-urea and Creatinine
-Electrolytes
-TSH
-Ferritinemia
-Cortisol level at 8.00 am
-Vitamin D 25 OH

Will be a pleasure to suggest you further after the above mentioned results.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
