What Causes Depression While On Sibelium And Tryptomer?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Feb 2016
Question: Dear sir/ma'm, I am 31 years male.I was given corticosteroid medication for 35 days last year between 22nd Sept to 27th Oct with change in doses. It worked in relieving my headache though with some sort of depression.Thereafter medicine was changed to sibelium with tryptomer. It caused too much drowsiness which hampered my job and exam preparation due in December. So I discontinued it by last of November. Headache has been resurfacing often now for last 10-15 days. Should I again start taking sibelium and tryptomer? Was the change in medicine from treating temporal arterisis to migraine correct?

Brief Answer:
Please provide further information.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I can understand your concern.

I can suggest you better if you provide me the daily dosing and frequency of your drugs.

It will also be better if you provide me the reports of CT/MRI if done or other tests if any.

Post your further queries if any,

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Possible Migraine. Require a brain scan as a safe option

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can certainly understand your concerns.

I apologize for the delayed response owing to my work schedule.

I worked through your query in detail.

Temporal arteritis is quite uncommon for your age and sex.

The migraine could be a reasonable possibility.

You might need a restart with Sibelium.Tryptomer can be substituted with a less sedating drug.

But before that it's very important to rule out significant brain organic abnormalities contributing to headaches. For this, I advise you to get a MRI or CT scan .

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can advise the same to you

Further specific management(for migraine) if any is largely based on test results.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you
