What Are The Withdrawal Symptoms Of Weed?

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Sep 2014
Question: I am 19. A varsity athlete on my university soccer team, and recently quit smoking weed after a full year of smoking at least 3x a day. At least once a day around 5pm till the rest of the day I will start getting diarrhea and indigestion. Later at night around 9pm I start feeling a noticeable pain in my left abdomen. It doesn't hurt whatsoever, but is unconfortable. the pain goes away in the morning, but comes back at these times the next day. This has been going on for the last week and I stopped smoking 2 weeks ago. What could this indicate? I think they are simply withdrawal symptoms since I experienced the same thing a few months ago when I tried quitting. As soon as I started playing soccer intensely again I no longer felt any stomach pains or indigestions for that matter.
In addition, I have not loss any kind of weight and still eat just as much as I used to. Those are literally the only 2 symptoms I am experiencing. No anxiety or mood swings either.
Nor am I an avid drinker I only drink once a week. Twice at the most.

Brief Answer:
Hi psychological withdrawl is common in weed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear

I admire you for positive outlook.

Smoking weed mostly produce psychological withdrawl symptoms like craving of the weed.

Physical withdrawl is rare anf it it is there n then it is like sweating, palpitation, mild chest discomfort, headache, unable to concentrate etc.

And it is usually started after quitting whithin one or two days.

And it is usually goes away when you again start to take weed.

it is not experience after 1 week .

so as per my opinion it is less chance of withdrawl. In very few cases it happens that withdrawl symptoms will start after 1 week.

So it may be a part of gastroenteritis or may be a part of some other organic cause in GI system.

1st step is to go for ultrasonography to identify any local pathology if any.

2nd is I will prefer medicine like antispasmodic and some antibiotic if diarrhoea is very severe. Here you do not mention about frequency and consistency.

So consult physician and remember do not take weed again .

still have a query than feel free to ask.

Thank you.
