Question: Hi I am 30 weeks pregnant and been diagnosed with possible pityriasis rosea. I had it as a child and presently the rash is mild. Do you know of any adverse effects of this condition at this gestation? Many thanks

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry generally

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic
There is nothing to worry as it is a mild condition and has no bad effect on baby.
But still a diagnosis has to be established by examination so that it is confirmed pitriasis rosea.
Take care

There is an Italian study by drago f et al on a small sample size that says it can be harmful to the baby but risk higher at early gestation. What are your thoughts on this? This is the study that got me worried! I don't think it includes women later in pregnancy. Are you aware of this? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Yes I'm aware of this and it is exactly the case that rarely it affects the baby and if at all does then only in early 2-1/2 months of pregnancy
So just relax and visit your doctor for evaluation
