What Causes Red Blotches On The Chest, Abdomen And Back?

default
Posted on Wed, 11 Oct 2017
Question: I have small red splotches on my chest, abdomen and a few on my sides and back. They do not itch and are flat. They vary in size. I have one on my upper leg that is large (3/4" x 1") and purplish. I noticed a few on my abdomen last week but have many more now. No discomfort. Just curious if I need to see my doctor.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be pityriasis rosea, upload pictures

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
According to your complaints it seems to be pityriasis rosea.
It is self limiting viral disease which usually subsides in 6-8 weeks.
I would recommend you to upload pictures of the affected areas so that I can have a clearer picture of the condition.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
