Question: Hi doctor, We had a baby in February 23 2015 I.e almost nine months completed now. My wife is still giving breast feeding. Today we had unsafe sex and we are worried if it gives a pregnancy, for which we are not ready at this stage. My wife is having periods regularly from past 4 months and she recently had the period between 13-16 of this month. Can you please let us know any tablet which stops pregnancy and also not give any effect to breast feeding or baby.

Brief Answer:
Emergency contraceptive pill

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
As I mentioned in our previous conversation, emergency contraceptive pill like I pill or unwanted72 can be taken within72 hours of unprotected intercourse. It is effective in preventing the pregnancy in95-98% cases.
I pill or unwanted 72 has no effect on the breastfeeding, quality of breast milk and has no side effect on the baby.
