Question: My age is 45 years i am suffering from A.S. since last 10 years i am going for physiotherapy since last 2 years .my main problem is i get stiff back & pain in right hip joint regularly cramps in caf muscles. Is their any permanent treatment. Thanks.

Usually in Ankylosing spondylitis, the attachments of ligaments become bony and stiff and make out difficult to bend the spine. Also there is possibly of arthritis of the joints in the pelvis and hip.

You have hip pain because of hip arthritis. The only permanent treatment for this problem is Total hip replacement.

Swimming is very useful in improving mobility of the spine.
