Suggest Treatment For Chronic Hip Arthritis

Question: have chronic hip arthritis...periodically take prescription hydrocodone-acetaminophen 5-325 with methocarbamol 500. Recently fell several feet from ladder and injured hip possibly hit head....took triple prescribe dose (3 each) within 1 hour. apparently was whacked out and called my alcohol counselor and left several disturbing messages. was told I was slurring speech and incoherent. Ended up flat on back for several days. Counselor called my P.O. and said I was drinking...I was not drinking. Could this combination of drugs have caused my symtoms (sic) and behavior? Continued on medication after original incident... feel better now...stopped meds... see orthopedist Monday. Please reply specifically to drug interaction possibilities and if symtsms would resemble possible alcohol use. Am taking UA Monday for alcohol it will be negative. Please respond ASAP.

Hydrocodone and Methacarbamol when taken together can cause alcohol like effects..Both these medications cause CNS depression leading to lethargy, sleepiness, slow response time, and in severe cases respiratory depression and coma.
Please make.sire you do not take more than prescribed dose of these medicines. Also, avoid alcohol with these medications. Do not engage in activities that require high alertness like driving or handling machines.
If you have not consumed alcohol, then urine/blood testing for alcohol will be negative.
