Suggest Remedies For Pain Due To Hip Arthritis

Hello Dr. Grief, my name is Rjnm,,ee and I was wondering your thoughts on hip arthritis. I am 47 y.o. female, 5 9 weighing 255 ( most I have ever weighed) with hip arthritis that has become worse over the last year to the point where I am having a hard time walking. I have just started aqua therapy yesterday and today was the worst pain I have had. One doctor is ready to do a total hip replacement and the other thinks I am too young.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.

hip replacement surgery gives good results.
No much advantage of minimally invasive hip replacement.
Rather than choose good quality of implant material which will last longer.

Physiotherapist will help you better to learn more exercises in proper protocol.

Diet rich in calcium and protein will help for recovery.
You need to reduce weight to improve longevity of implant.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
