Question: I have a growth on my spleen, cyst is this a concern?

Most spleen cysts are benign and require no surgical treatment unless there are associated symptoms. CT scan characteristics in most cases may indicate is this benign or malignant cyst and rarely there may be borderline and in this case, additional diagnostics are required such as MRI scan or scintigraphy.

Benign cysts are larger than 10cm, symptomatic ones, and those that complicates with bleeding, require spleen removal. Smaller cysts and asymptomatic ones, require ultrasound follow up each 6-12 months.
