Question: I have had sinus pressure and a lot of drainage that drips down throat now I have chest congestion can that cause heart to race

An increase in heart rate occurs in different ways including the release of certain chemicals.
These chemicals can be released during the body's stress response, stress can be physical (due to illness or activity etc) or emotional.

Medications can also affect the heart rate.

Sinus symptoms, particularly if there is facial discomfort from the pressure or headaches or ear pain, can cause an increase in heart rate.
If the illness is causing emotional distress because of its severity or persistence, then this can cause an increase as well.

Chest congestion , if associated with coughing can also affect the heart rate
