Brief Answer:
Use oral rehydration solution

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Loose stools at this age is usually viral infection which may last a week in some children.
I usually recommend oral rehydration solution like pedialyte to be given in sips frequently to maintain hydration.
Pepto-Bismol isn't recommended for kids.
Probiotics like saccharomyces can be given once daily to help in recovery.
Zinc drops at 10 mg per day is recommended for all diarrhoea at this age for total of 14 days. This helps in healing intestinal layers.
Ensure your toddler passes urine atleast six to eight times a day.
If he becomes dull or low urine output consult with your pediatrician.
Wishing your child good health.
Regards
Dr Arun
