Brief Answer:
oligomenorrhoea due to stress...explained

Detailed Answer:
hello XXXXXXX
thanks for contacting health care magic.

well in your case you have missed your periods since last 2 months and as you say you are not pregnant ( i hope you have done a urine pregnancy test ).
now if pregnancy is ruled out then your pattern of menses is called oligomenorrhoea.
the most common reason of the same is stress , considering that you had previously normal and regular periods.
secondly , if you may have taken any hormonal medications which can alter your rhythm.
thirdly it can be a part of syndrome called PCOS, the polycystic ovarian syndrome which includes polycyctic ovaries, hirsutism and oligomenorrhoea.
My advise would be:-
1. get a pelvic ultrasound done to check for endometrial thickness.
2. get following tests done....= thyroid profile , serum prolactin, serum testosterone,FSH , LH.

also if pregnancy ruled out and ultrasound done, if ET > 8 mm , then you should opt for withdrawal bleeding with progestins. after that you can maintain a menstrual calendar for 3 months and watch your cycles for its regularity.

thanks.

Brief Answer:
best would be a visit to gynae

Detailed Answer:
thanks for the follow up.
In my opinion, an ultrasound is a must.
after that atleast you can be given a withdrawal bleed with progesterones so that you can regularize your cycle again.
there are no home remedies actually which can initiate menses.
stress appears to be major factor in your case. try some destressing exercises like yoga at home , but with 2 months gap already i feel , it will again be futile.

you must visit a gynae at your place and get yourself evaluated.

Ok thanks doctor! I hope this is not as complicated as it sounds! I am really worried! This is curable right? I also want to ask if m given birth control pills or progestine pills what could be the side effects?

Detailed Answer:
thanks for follow up again.

This is indeed curable but we actually need to establish the cause , for which certain investigations are necessary.

Progesterone pills are safe for withdrawal and can sometimes cause mild nausea and headache in some women but thats not in all. the progesterone pills have to be taken for five days and then on stoppage you should expect your periods within 7-10 days. it is likely that your periods would be heavier this time.

Birth control pills are indicated only once all investigations have been done and if you are sexually active and you need protection.
