Question: I have low T 182 in 1st test (last month) and 165 in 2nd (after 10 days). I also have sleep problems from last 2 years something awakes me up during night. I have done my sleep study done 2 days ago and waiting for results. Due to low T i started exercise daily (after long time) now i got anothet prob with slow heart rate 45-55 bpm. Kindly suggest me if these problems are related and how. Also, pls suggest me how should i approach to find the root cause.

Is there any other way to increase testosteroe without TRT?

Brief Answer:
Hormone tests

Detailed Answer:
Sorry to learn about your bothersome symptoms.

They could potentially be related. Your pituitary controls both the testosterone and thyroid. A slow heart rate can be a sign of a thyroid condition.

You have not mentioned your age and gender. It is extremely likely you are male but in medicine we do not assume anything.
When I see someone like you in my practice, I typically order the following blood tests in addition to a detailed physical examination:

CBC (Complete Blood Count, also known as Hemogram; includes Hemoglobin, WBC and Platelet counts)
Electrolytes (Sodium and Potassium in particular)
HbA1c (Glycosylated Hemoglobin = your last 3 months' glucose average). Also known by other names such as GlycoHemoglobin or Glycated Hemoglobin or A1c
Liver function tests (SGOT , SGPT, Albumin, Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase)
Kidney function tests (BUN, Creatinine)
TSH (checks your thyroid)
Free T4 (this too checks your thyroid)
25 hydroxy Vitamin D levels (ideal range 40 to 60 ng/ml = 100 to 150 nmol/liter)
Prolactin
SHBG
FSH
LH
8 am cortisol

None of these tests require any fasting

Correct diagnosis and treatment requires the opportunity to examine the patient so you must see an endocrinologist in-person.

Brief Answer:
Follow up

Detailed Answer:
Request your doctor to:

1 Replace vitamin d and raise it to target levels

2 test you further for raised SGPT such as hepatitis profile, ultrasound of the liver

3 More blood tests are necessary to know the cause of your low Testosterone such as

FSH
LH
Ferritin

to start with

Your prolactin is normal and your thyroid function tests also appear normal.

Amlodepine does not lower the heart rate.

Thanks Dr.

What are the chances that i'l be put on TRT. I am very scared of side effects of TRT. In worst case scenario if i have to go for TRT, can i continue this in Delhi/NCR also?

Brief Answer:
Second follow up

Detailed Answer:
TRT is not the immediate and only thing to worry about at the moment. Firstly a correct diagnosis needs to be made and other important conditions need to be ruled out such as whether you truly have a low testosterone problem and if so, is the cause at the pituitary level or at the testicle level.
Treatment will be directed accordingly
