Brief Answer:
NOTHING TO WORRY, BUT HAVE A WORKUP

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Please relax, Postinor ( emergency contraception ) can alter your normal menstrual cycle.
The spotting is common after intake of Postinor.
Also it can slightly alter the expected date of your periods.
As you near 40, periods do not remain like clockwork as they used to, while you were younger.
However, just to be on the safer side, please visit a gynecologist and have a formal evaluation.
Go for an internal exam, Pap smear and pelvic ultrasound scan.
Also, hormonal levels - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin.
Get a pregnancy test done also.
IF this is all normal, do not worry.
Maintain a menstrual calendar, and apart from slight variations, do not worry.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
