Suggest Treatment For Fibroid In Uterus

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Sep 2014
Question: Hi, I am 31 years old. I have had endless medical symptoms for the past 2 years. 1 year and half ago I had pelvic ultrasound because of symptoms (cramps when not on period) and pain with sex. The ultrasound said I had Moderate Free Fluid and a 3mm Nabothian Cyst. It didn't answer my symptoms, so I carried on with my life.
However, I just had another ultrasound due to recurring symptoms (such as missed period in July - unusual for me and frequent urination/+ retention) and it came up with no cyst but with one 5cm fibroid in the uterus.
I have no family history of fibroids and have not had children, nor plan to.

Should I be concerned? and should I see a gynecologist for a biopsy? I had the ultrasounds sone in different General M.D Clinic's.

Brief Answer:
Yes you should concerned.

Detailed Answer:
welcome to Health care magic.

1.You need to concerned with the fibroid and see your gynaecologist.

2.At this point there is no need to go for a biopsy, First your doctor would try with hormonal treatment and monitor if fibroid is resolving. Operative procedure is not planned at this stage, by keeping your age and family status.

3. You have to get treated as soon as possible, as fibroids cause excessive bleeds, irregular periods , difficulty in conceiving in future.

4.Also suggest followup pelvic ultrasound to monitor the treatment.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
