Question: I am a 69 yr old female. I woke up with a kind of bad pain under my left breast covering about a six inch area. Could it be my heart or my gall bladder? My e-mail address is YYYY@YYYY . Please answer as soon as you can, because I am worried. It hurts a little when I take a deep breath.

Brief Answer:
Can be angina.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting query on this forum.
Have gone through your details and i appreciate your concern.

Going through your history there can be two possibilities-
Firstly it can be Angina-Angina is a symptom of coronary artery disease.
Angina feels like squeezing, pressure, heaviness, tightness or pain in the chest. It can be sudden or recur over time. Left sided chest pain is a classical feature of angina although conditions like gastritis ,reflux esophagitis can also present with same symptoms.
i would suggest you to go to the nearest cardiology set up and get a EKG done.Cardiac troponins are present in blood and are very sensitive to rule out myocardial infarction and unstable angina.
A 2d echo(heart ultra sound) should be done to rule out regional motion wall abnormality.

Second possibility-Once cardiac investigations are normal ultra sound abdomen should be done to rule out Gall bladder and other gastric possibilities.

Suggestion-
Visit nearest cardiology emergency set up.
