Suggest Treatment For Acne

Question: I have hormonal acne and it never seems to go away. I am scared to go on birth control in case I gain weight or if it affects my ability to have babies. Topical agents have not really worked and the birth control safryl worked long time ago. What do you recommend?

I am so sorry to hear about this acne. It is true that contraceptive pills can cause minor increase in weight but not so much. All persons with excessive weight gain on hormonal pills is related to over eating and not the pill in someway causing persons to swell up. Pills have no impact on fertility and you would be able to return to having babies should you choose as soon as you get off the drugs. I understand your worries but these should not be reasons to stop you from getting treatment as these effects don't hold true for a greater number of them.
