Suffered From PCOD. Gained A Weight In Excess. Treatment For Reducing The Weight In Less Time? Should I Go For Any Panchkarma Method?

hi, i am 29.8 yrs old, 73kg, 5.4" , a mother of 2 kids. My second child is 8 months old and just a week ago i have discontinued the breast feeding. My first child was 7 yrs old and after his birth i have suffered from PCOD which was resolved by homeopathy treatment. Now it seems i have gained a weight in excess and i strongly wish to reduce it. I have done NADI examination and found to be vata prakruti. Please suggest some treatment for reducing the weight in less time. Should i go for any panchkarma method?

Greetings !

Weight reduction in short time is not a good idea. You can reduce upto 3-4 kg in a month is fine but beyond that may cause some complication later in life. Of course you can go for Panchakarma procedure like Choorna massage or Virechan for weight reduction. As you are of Vata prakruti then Virechan is better option. It is a 8-10 days procedure and very effective. You can contact any good experienced Panchakarma specialist in you r area for this.
Feel free to ask any further doubt or query.

1. if weight is gained in excess, consult with your Gynecologist regarding Thyroid profile and go for an USG Abdomen for re evaluation of PCOS (any structural abnormality).
2. reducing weight in less time is not recommended due to health hazards associated with it,secret of losing weight is to burn off more calories than consume.
. you can go for any one of the following procedure to burn the calories:
1/2 hour of walking, jogging or running, swimming, cycling, aerobic exercises.
. AVOID butter, ghee, cheese, cream, deep fried foods, sweet potatoes, beets, nuts, fruits with sweet pulp like bananas, mango, chickoos, and grapes,chocolates,cakes,pastries,ice-creams,jams,processed and tinned food.
.

.take thin soup, salads, drink plenty of water, and diluted butter milk, take roti/phulka without oil or ghee, oil may be substituted by gravy of tomato, onion, garlic and ginger.
.for morning and evening snacks: skimmed milk apple, orange, papaya, pineapple, pear, watermelon, dates
. develop healthy eating habits: like do not eat only 2 large meals a day, take snacks in between (it is advisable to eat good breakfast and light lunch and dinner).
. watching TV while eating, talking, angry discussions all lead to over eating
.eat slowly, chewing each bite thoroughly.
.do not be tempted to finish up left overs.
.use non stick cooking ware for cooking.
3. Your treating Ayurveda Physician can explain you about necessary panchkarma procedures depending upon your "NADI" type.
