Brief Answer:
Kindly give me some more details

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
I am Dr Aslam here to help you.

I guess you are not a hypertensive on treatment, and not having any other medical illnesses or regular medications.
The present reading is well above normal.
I can guide you better if you give me the following details.

1)What was the reason to check BP? I mean, had you any symptoms like headache/vertigo/nausea?
2)What type of apparatus you used? manual/digital?
3)Did you check it soon after walking in or,after 15-20 minutes of resting?
4)Are you obese, and what is your occupation?

Waiting for your answer,Thank you.

the beginning of 2010 middle of XXXXXXX i noticed pressure in my head and trouble focusing on simple tasks that turned in to headache. at that time i could not remember the last time i had a headache. i don't normally get them. its also the time child support started causing me serious problems. from that time to present i regularly checked my B.P. any 8 to 11 days a month i would have B.P. of 138/ 98 to 169/115. and its noticeable due to reduced vision and tasks becoming harder to complete. in the last ten months my b.p. has been 70% 145/95 to 30% 150/110 to 190/125. last month i had something happen to me un like anything i have ever experienced. when i would stand up it took 8 to 20 minutes and i was completely out of energy with a ill feeling i have never experienced. i had to lay down cause i would fall down other wise. my friend took my blood sugar and it was 30. it finely went away 7 days later. other than that i cant ever remember being sick. last time 10 yrs old the flu. have never had any desiese broken bones or anything. smoked for 10 years quit 19 yrs ago. don't drink. much. ma-by 4 beers 3 cocktails per year. do not like drugs any drugs. my system rebels.
i use an omron hem-775 automatic blood pressure monitor. i rest 20 min then use the triple setting. monitor takes 3 tests 15 seconds apart and gives me an average. once in morning then again at nite. it stores info and compares giving me basic instructions like "warning seek medical assistance". and of course i did.
6' 1.5" 210 lbs. self employed. started monitoring 3 years ago due to headache vision trouble and found simple tasks hard to complete that normally were no problem. i no the difference i AM H.A.D.D.

Brief Answer:
This may need anti hypertensive drugs be started

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for the detailed and comprehensive clinical profile.

The normal value our BP is around 120/80.
Values above this, when persist on two or more visits, need medical attention.
Up to 140/90,we call it Prehypertension-just need life style modification with diet and exercise management.
Above 140/90,this is definite hypertension, and need to be controlled with anti hypertensives.
Above 160/100 is stage 2 hypertension, demanding early medical attention.
With every increase by 20/10 mm Hg above 140/90,cardio vascular risk gets doubled.

So I advise you to consult a physician for further management,or continue regular follow up if you are already on.Meanwhile, have a low salt diet,do regular moderate exercise-like 40-50 minutes daily, reduce non veg items, take enough fruits and veges.

The one episode of fainting you had once might be from hypoglycemia(RBS was only 30).
Hope, now I have answered your query. If you have no further questions, you can close the discussion and rate the answer.
Wishing you good health,Thank you.
