Question: MY DAUGHTER IS 11 YEARS. SHE IS STARTED PERIOD FROM THREE MONTH.SHE IS PROLONGED PERIOD. I CONSULT DOCTOR, SHE SUGGEST ME TRAPIC MF FOR THREE DAYS. BUT SHE IS NOT MENTION 250/500mg AND SUGESTED FOR TEST T3 T4 TSH S.PROLACTIN S.LH S.FSH.

The menarche or the initial menses in a young girl are generally irregular simply because the hormones especially progesterones are not matured and not in adequate quantity.
She can be placed on TRAPIC MF ( tranexamic acid 500mg + mefenamic acid 250 mg ) twice a day for next 3-5 days. This shall help in reducing the flow and thereby stopping it.
Other tests can be done as baseline where thyroid profile with serum progesterone levels at day 21 should be done more importantly.
