Brief Answer:
Very few and mildly contributing home remedies available

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'm and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I should let you know that a sore throat can have numerous causes to it and based on the cause, the treatment is designed or planned.

Causes can include:

+Allergies: Requiring removal of exposure to the allergen and also the use of anti-histamine and anti-inflammatory medications
+Viral infection: Usually just symptomatic treatment including warm water gargles, pain and inflammation management for the throat, etc.
+Bacterial infection: Usually confirmed with laboratory investigations and also a green and/or yellow sputum produced with cough

But either way, here are the home remedies that you can try as requested:

+Warm water with a pinch of salt gargles several times a day
+Keep yourself warm and covered, especially if you have a fever or feel feverish
+Drink plenty of water (lukewarm)
+Avoid exposure to cold air/wind; avoid the use of air conditioners and being in a room with high-speed fan
+Do not drink cold fluids or eat cold food
+Warm milk with half a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a little sugar for taste
+Preferably eat semi-solid food and not hard food (e.g. soups, porridge, etc.)
+Can use an anti-histamine medication (e.g. cetrizine) that will help suppress symptoms like irritation, inflammation, etc.
+Try to look for any allergens, which once recognised should be removed
+Can try using over-the-counter solutions for gargling (e.g. Betadine mouth wash, TANTUM mouth wash, etc.)

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Can try some pain management medications

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Yes, the throat hurting while talking is due to the inflammation and so you can also use:

+Tablet DISPRIN-MD (mouth dissolvable): Dissolve the tablet in a glass of lukewarm water, gargle and spit out

or

+Any general pain management medication that should help to control or reduce your pain

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
