Brief Answer:
FDA category C medications

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
1. Besivance eye drops 0.6%. This medication is used to treat bacterial eye infections. Besifloxacin belongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria
2. Zylet eye drops contain a combination of loteprednol and tobramycin. Loteprednol is a steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Tobramycin is an antibiotic that fights bacteria.

Both above medications are FDA pregnancy category C.

FDA category C states that
Category C
Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus
and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but
potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women
despite potential risks.

Therefore it is left up to the treating doctor to use such medications after judging the benefits over risk.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
