Is Recovery Time Long After Placing Hardware Fixtures In Left Leg Post Injury?
Question: My father had an accident around 3 months back and operated for hardware fixtures in left leg as per the attached reports, could you please advice about the correct line of treatment as he is walking slowing using stick and currently not undergoing for physiotherapy treatment. Please suggest about the duration it takes to complete cure and whether its advisable to have the hardware placed inside or not.
While walking he is having little pain on the sole what can be the reason for the same is it normal after surgery that tissues gets tight and hardware needs to adjust while walking.
Please provide answers for all the queries line by line.

It appears that the leg bone had not yet healed or United.
Usually the leg bone takes 2 to 3 months to heal if the bony ends are properly aligned.
It would be helpful to upload a photo of the Xray film because the report isn't adequate on the condition of the bones and alignment.
The right tissues are due to keeping the limb in abnormal positron and less use of all the muscles. Physiotherapy is very important for him to restore the muscle strength.
Internal Implants are useful to heal the fracture, better than outer Implants.
Pain in the sole is due to tight heel cord. This needs to be stretched by a Physiotherapist.

Pl advice how to upload the x-ray films as you can't scan them and also there is no soft copy of the film all i have is the physical film. How long will it take for him to walk properly with out stick.

I have reviewed the attached xrays. Firstly, I cannot say if it is due to a camera shake blur, but there appears to be a fracture in the inner side of the ankle or medial malleolus which has not been treated. Of course this only appears to be a fracture and I can't be sure unless you send me a better quality photo of the Xray without the shake.
The fixation of the other Fractures appear fine and he can start partial weight bearing. Physiotherapy is needed to bring the foot flat on the ground, strengthening the food dorsiflexors and plantar flexors, invertors and evertors.

could you please let me know whether the bone having hardware fixtures are operated properly and joined or not?
Also would like to know the reason behind the swelling and pain around the backside of the leg.
What all precautions/home treatment like XXXXXXX warm water treatment with salt can be helpful or not.

There is a stainless steel plate on the lower end of the fibula bone and a screw fixing the Posterior malleolus of the distal end of tibia bone.
He needs to keep his feet soaked in salt water, get physiotherapy done and once the fracture unites, then he can walk normally.
