Brief Answer:
Can be due to TSH problem.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Your wife's TSH is raised and this can cause irregular periods. The excessive bleeding during the periods can be due to
-Female hormone imbalance,
-Uterine fibroids,
-Disorders of the uterine lining,
-Uterine,ovarian or cervical cancer,
-Hypothyroidism,
-Endometrial hyperplasia,
-Dysfunctional uterine bleeding,
For diagnosis, you need to have an ultrasound scan of your lower abdomen.
To decrease the bleeding you need to have progesteone pills along with hemostatic agents like ethamsylate or tranexaemic acid after consulting with your gynaecologist. Natural treatments are not likely to help.
Meanwhile start taking iron supplements to combat excessive blood loss from your body.
