How To Manage Withdrawal Bleeding While On Yasminelle?

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Jul 2015
Question: Hi there. I've been taking yasminelle since mid may so that I could postpone my period for my holiday in XXXXXXX in Gran Canaria which is nearly over. I've still been experiencing period type pains, period related tension and soreness in my vagina as well as breakthrough bleeding. I've been thinking of withdrawing when I return from my holiday for a week? Will the withdrawal bleed be heavy? Will I have 1 or 2 periods?

Brief Answer:
You will have 1 period.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
You have been taking the pill for almost a month. It is best to stop the pill after your holiday finishes to have a withdrawal bleeding. The bleeding can be heavier than your normal period but is not likely to be very heavy. After that if you do not resume taking the pill you should have your normal periods after one month.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
